Anglican
Communications Centre

The Anglican Communications Centre (ACC) is a
special set up of the Diocese of Kuching. It is a centre specially
serving in the area of school chaplaincy, youth, children and Christian Education .
For School Chaplaincy, the School Chaplain visits
the schools, mainly secondary schools to organize the Christian Fellowship
which is part of their school curriculum. It is a blessed ministry because most
of the schools the Chaplain visits are not
In the area of youth ministry, ACC works together
with the Anglican Diocesan Youth Council (ADYC) whenever relevant, in
organizing youth activities together. Other times, the Director of ACC travels
to the various parishes throughout the Diocese, to organize the youth seminars
or to be the speaker for the youth activities in the various parishes. ACC also
organize youth leaders retreat or leaders training. ACC organizes the ACC Camp
annually at the end of the year .
For children ministry, it is mainly the training of
Sunday School Teachers, either at Diocesan level or individual parishes. To
date, over 250 teachers have been trained since year 2000. Besides, the ACC
also make various trips to parishes, kampongs and longhouses to
organize children programmes over the weekend
and as well as Christmas programmes at the
Longhouses.
Christian Education in ACC mainly involves with
providing resources and materials , giving leaders
training and teaching at different conferences and seminars. There is a
mini library in ACC of about 700 books, mainly in English and Chinese with
few titles in Bahasa
ACC is planning for renovation, to upgrade its
present building and to make a new phase. This serves the purpose to better
equip this training centre and to provide better facilities for retreats and
seminar training. We hope the renovation and plans of new building will
be completed by the end of 2006.
